Catch the Wave!

Why not? Ben’s gone, and since Ben and his actions were the reason for the June 2004 split of Talossa, and since he and his nefarious consort have been gone from Talossa for quite some time, why are we still playing the Republic game to begin with?I think that partly our continued split is a manifestation of a deep cultural/non-Talossan political divide between many Talossans in American and those from other countries. It also, I’m sure, has to do with personality conflicts between certain persons that go beyond just [add name here] vs. Ben”.

One of the great things about the old Talossa was that people of many different political persuasions could and did (outside the context of Ben Madison) get along reasonably well. This can happen again, and a reunified Talossan state is the way to make this happen.

Miestrâ Schivâ and John Woolley are polar opposites in almost every way, though they are bound by the commonality of a desire to make the world a better place and are both nice people with intelligent things to say. How wonderful it would be for them to be playing Talossa together!

Ben not abdicating and leaving the Regipäts until more than a year had passed since 1 June 2004 assured that both Talossas had enough time to form their own distinctive cultures and ways of doing things. Had he and Amy left in August 2004 instead of August 2005, I expect that we would have seen a mass return to the Kingdom by not just those who left the two months previous, but by those who had left in 1998 and 2001 and at other times.

However, I believe our disparate cultures can not only combine to make a whole greater than the sum of its parts, I believe that in order to combat the greatest enemy of all, Apathy, we must bring this about! There is too much talent on both sides of the “Vuode Wall” to not come together and to make the Talossa that Should Have Always Been: Free, fun, and fair!
