Six days to the movie… Sixteen days to the book…

If you are a Harry Potter fan like I (or a Harry Potter fanatic like Rachael from Snapecast), you know what I am talking about. If you are not and have no clue to what I am referring, I refer you to my previous posts in the “Harry Potter” category. :-)

Needless to say I am positively giddy — not at the coming of the cinematic re-telling of the fifth Potter book, but at the publication of the final Potter book, for which I have waited seven years. A long time, to be sure, but when I think of the kids who grew up waiting for this moment since Philosopher’s Stone hit the shelves ten years ago, I am humbled.

This week’s events in London and Glasgow have reminded me once again just how lucky I am. I and millions of people around the world… How lucky we are that we can sit in our comfortable rooms on the internet and read Harry Potter websites…

Thank God for the good people who risk their lives every day so that we can go to Harry Potter release parties and take trips to England. Thank God for our police, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

Happy Fourth, everyone!
