The Professional Choir of Congregation Emanul-El, this afternoon, completed its part of the congregation’s Rosh Hashanah services.

Last evening, we did the same Rosh Hashanah evening service twice, and in today’s service, we heard the shofar, the torah reading, and a great sermon from Rabbi Silk (and here is Rabbi Roy Walter’s from last night). I have to say that in the daytime Rosh Hashanah service (more than any other at Emanu-El all-year long - for me, anyway), time seems to stand still (not being facetious): a three-hour service that feels as though no time has passed at all.

On to Yom Kippur…
